The scarlet elf cup (Sarcoscypha austriaca) is a striking woodland fungus instantly recognised by its vivid red, cup-shaped fruiting bodies that appear against damp leaves and moss in late winter and early spring. Often found in shaded woodland and along stream banks, these bright fungi bring a splash of colour to the forest floor when little else is in bloom.

This scarlet elf cup fungi woven iron-on patch is based on my original illustration and produced in high-quality woven fabric, capturing the rich red tones and delicate cup shapes of this distinctive woodland species.
