This illustrated vinyl sticker features the Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major), a striking black, white, and red bird found widely across the UK. Recognisable by its bold markings and loud tapping, it moves up tree trunks in short bursts with its stiff tail braced against the bark.

Great Spotted Woodpeckers live in woodlands, parks, and gardens, where they search for insects hidden beneath bark and inside decaying wood. In flight, they travel in a looping pattern with several wingbeats followed by a glide. Their rapid drumming in early spring carries through the trees and marks the start of the breeding season.
