The Western Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) is the largest member of the grouse family, found in mature coniferous and mixed forests across northern and central Europe. Male capercaillies are striking birds, known for their impressive size. In the UK, it survives in only a few areas of the Scottish Highlands — a rare sight and a symbol of healthy, undisturbed woodland.
This enamel pin captures the distinctive male capercaillie with a fan-shaped tail, with screen-printed details of its bold markings and characteristic pose. It is 25 mm in size and secured with a secure metal clasp.
Each Capercaillie pin comes mounted on an illustrated backing card, referencing the bird’s natural pine forest habitat, all designed and illustrated by me. A perfect addition for your nature enamel pin collection.

Really lovely illustrations on a great quality calendar. Really love the information on each page about the wildlife and the animals. There’s plenty of space to write events in, with extra space for notes. The fountain pen I’ve used on it has worked well with no bleeding or smudging. Overall a great product and love the variety every month!! :)
