The Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) is one of the most colourful members of the crow family and a familiar sight and sound in mature woodlands across the UK. Known for its soft pinkish-brown feathers, bright blue wing flashes, and loud calls, the Jay plays an important role in forest ecology, particularly as a natural forester, caching acorns that help new oak trees grow.
