The Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) is the largest wading bird in Europe and has a downward-curved bill it uses to probe the earth in search of invertebrates. The UK's population of curlews represents more than 30% of Europe's population, but it has declined over 65% and is currently Britain's highest conservation priority bird species.

This enamel pin captures the curlew in flight, displaying its pale underside with screen-printed mottled plumage.
