A winter arrival captured in motion, this square greeting card shows a flock of Bewick’s Swans (Cygnus columbianus bewickii) sweeping down to land on calm water. Some birds glide in with outstretched wings while others settle onto the reflective surface, creating a sense of movement across the scene.

Bewick’s swans migrate thousands of kilometres each year from Arctic Russia to winter in Britain. During the colder months they gather on lakes, rivers, and wetlands, their bright white plumage and black-and-yellow bills standing out against winter skies and quiet waters.
