A Whole Year of Wildlife for 2027

My last few years in the design sector, I focused on calendar design, so naturally I wanted to create my own when I became an illustrator. Most people do twelve drawings and call it a day, but each species you see on this calendar I have drawn individually before combining them all together to create a bigger picture of a unique habitat here in the UK.

There are twelve months of habitats, from grasslands to Caledonian forests, canals to estuaries. Many species are endemic to these habitats, or what you might see if you visit, showing the diversity and wonder of the wildlife in the UK.

Meet the Wildlife Illustrator and Nature Nerd Behind Ferne Creative

I’ve always had an obsessive passion for nature and being creative. I started my career combining both as a wildlife photographer before entering the corporate world as a designer; thankfully for both of us, I decided I hated office life and found my way back to my love of illustration.

Through Ferne Creative, I transform my wildlife illustrations into a range of nature-inspired products for fellow naturalists. I hope that each wildlife illustration brings joy and inspires curiosity about the incredible British wildlife we’re lucky to have here in the UK.
