    I have always loved collecting enamel pins, particularly the RSPB pins of species I have seen or want to see in the future. This is the inspiration behind me creating my own pins that are more detailed and artistic than the RSPB pins but I hope are as loved and collectable.

    Enamel pins can be used in a variety of ways, from pin boards to elevating an outfit. Wear your pins on either side of your denim jacket collar or simple and striking with one or a bundle of pins on the chest pocket.

Should I keep my enamel pin on the backing card?

Keeping your enamel pin backing card is totally your choice. Many wildlife pins, like the RSPB pins, are more valuable with the backing cards, but my pins are not as rare yet. But who is to say they won't be one day when I discontinue certain designs!

Do enamel pins damage clothing?

Enamel pins have a sharp end that can easily poke through jackets, bags, hats and more, which can leave a small puncture hole in the fabric. Most fabric is forgiving, but avoid delicate materials like silk, which could rip, or the weight of the pin could enlarge the hole.

How do I keep my pins from falling off?

All my wildlife enamel pins come with a metal butterfly clutch, which I find much stronger than a standard rubber back. Upgrade to locking pin backs for extra security.

What do you do with enamel pins?

You can enjoy your pin collection in so many wonderful ways to enjoy it personally or share it with the world.

One of my favourite ways is to display my large RSPB pin collection on a pinboard; cork works well, or you can use hanging fabric. This way you can organise the pins by theme or collage them. Other people use shadow boxes or even folders to keep the pins pristine on the backing cards – which blows my mind. People like my work this much.

To maximise enjoyment, you can also use them to decorate jackets, bags, hats, camera and binocular straps. Take your favourite wildlife enamel pin with you everywhere you go.

How do I look after my wildlife enamel pins?

My wildlife enamel pins are made of hard enamel, which is very durable, but to keep them in good condition, there are a few things you can do. If they get dusty or dirty, simply wipe them with a dry cloth, avoiding water and moisture to prevent damage.

My pins are for enjoying and showing off, but if you want to avoid any scratches from wear, you can store them in a pin case or pin display.

Are enamel pins made in the UK?

Unfortunately enamel pins cannot be made in the UK, and any business or company selling them as such is misinformed or lying. We do not have the equipment or skills to manufacture them here.

All my pin designs are designed by me in my South Wales studio, along with my illustrated backing cards, which are printed in the UK.

Do you use AI to design your enamel pins?

Never! All my wildlife illustrations, products and packaging are designed fully by a human – me.

I do not support or condone using AI, which steals from artists like me and will never produce a unique product like my wildlife enamel pins.
